This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit this website, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This is a private, non-commercial personal website. It does not use tracking or analytics cookies, contains no contact form, does not run advertising, and does not embed third-party content that would transmit your data to external providers (see section 5). The only routine data processing is what is technically necessary to deliver the website, described below.

3. Hosting & server log files

The website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany ("hosting provider"). When you access the site, the hosting provider's servers automatically collect and store information in server log files that your browser transmits. These may include:

• anonymised or abbreviated IP address of the requesting device,
• date and time of the request,
• the page/file requested and the amount of data transferred,
• browser type and version, and operating system,
• the referring website (referrer), where provided by your browser.

This data is processed to enable delivery of the website, ensure stability and security, and for technical administration. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website). Log data is not merged with other data sources and is stored only for as long as necessary, then deleted. A data-processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with the hosting provider.

4. Cookies

This website does not set cookies and does not use web analytics or tracking technologies.

5. Fonts & external resources

The website's fonts (Inter) are hosted directly on this website's own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service, so no data is transmitted to such providers when you view the site. All images are served from this website's own server.

6. Contact by email

If you contact me by email, the information you provide (your email address, and any details in your message) is processed solely to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries) and, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. This data is deleted once it is no longer required and there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary.

This website contains a link to an external profile (LinkedIn). When you follow such a link, the operator of the target site is responsible for how your data is processed there. Please review the privacy policy of that provider. I have no influence over the data processing of external sites.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data held about you (Art. 15),
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16),
• erasure (Art. 17),
• restriction of processing (Art. 18),
• data portability (Art. 20), and
• to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21).

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement. As the site operator is based in Portugal, the competent authority is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), www.cnpd.pt.

This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security. You can recognise an encrypted connection by "https://" in the address bar and the padlock icon in your browser.
